There has never before been a point in history when a young black guy rich off of Canadian soap operas and luxury super-rap could exchange words with a quasi-eccentric super-rich octogenarian who loves wind power. Now they can—in public. And that, simply, is awesome.

Twitter: where world’s collide, and that’s a good thing.

This somehow feels related to our last post. This would never happen on Facebook.

BOOM ROASTED. Note to all—->when you brag about how rich you are on Twitter, you will receive a backhand from T. Boone.

I love it when worlds collide. Especially when one of those worlds are mine. I miss my Vancouver/nightlife/music Twitter account a lot. I met and interacted with so many awesome people on there all the time. Sigh. I love Twitter.

Whenever I start doubting whether or not I’m making a difference, I stop and think about what would happen if I just dropped off the face of the planet. That usually helps. hehe.

hamlet’s soliloquy

Everybody’s got a dark side. Do you love me? Can you love mine? Nobody’s picture perfect.

I was just thinking about how if I ever got away with killing someone, it’d be a huge secret to hide. First of all, I could never tell anyone I was seeing. Would you date a murderer? Didn’t think so. I also don’t think my future children would ever forgive me if they found out. And if they did, I think I’d be giving them permission to commit murder themselves.

Basically, if I ever killed someone, I’d be killing every relationship of mine, in the present and the future. Except for maybe my friendship with Cassandra. She told me once that even if I killed someone, as long as I could rationalize it, she’d stand by me. See, that’s a best friend.

So even though running away is tiring, and escapism is really only temporary, killing someone to stop them from hurting you is not an option at all. No one has the right to take a life, and I think that guilt would outweigh the relief of the pain overall. Can you see why people who are at their end would choose to kill themselves instead?

Moral of the story: Don’t marry someone who already has a child and proceed to resent that child for the next two decades. Keep in mind that when you marry someone who already has children, they come as a package. The children don’t just disappear. When you marry that person, you marry their kids too. …so to speak.

Zambian time.
We had an orientation meeting with some of Kitwe’s political officials and representatives for our organizations. It was scheduled to start at 830am but didn’t start till around 11. Pro: I’ll never be late for anything. Con: I am never sure of when things will start!!

artsumbrella put on a wine fair last night at the Roundhouse Arts/Rec Centre. Into the Vineyard was focused on getting you to actually go and plan a trip to visit a winery. idk, if I were travelling somewhere, there would def need to be music involved.
anyway, this was one of my favourite wines from last night. Vino Cacao, chocolate wine. in white and red. maybe a little too sweet, but still sooo yummy! it’d make a perfect gift. take notes!

priorities

I’m thinking of taking on 15-18 credits in the fall. And every semester after that.

Full time at Kwantlen is 9 credits. So while I’m technically a full time student, 9 credits allows enough time in my schedule to also have a full time job. Doubling my load next semester (and every semester after that) would mean that I quit working, or work one shift a week (if I could even handle that. Maybe more like 3 shifts a month, if even! I haven’t even factored in The Arts Club, the yoga studio, OAC… aghh).

I spoke with my dad about this. He said he was willing to support me if I wanted to focus on school and get it over with. He was asking me what my expenses were every month and how much I would need as an allowance. And he knows full well about my music addiction. He knows very well… hahaha. He too, has been to many a concert with me. :)

I don’t know… I’d just feel too guilty doing that. I know that a lot of my friends blasted through their undergrad years with their parents’ support, but I haven’t asked my parents dad for money since I was 15. (btdub, my stepmother has never been financially involved with me. My dad has been responsible for my entire life.)

I guess the sooner I get school over with, the sooner I can work again, and the sooner I can start paying my dad back for everything. Idk, this is a lot to think about.
